Our signature event is our annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. This is a unique opportunity to work side by side with those of diverse faiths and cultures to benefit our local community. We are planning many family-friendly projects, which are both meaningful and rewarding.
These projects include preparing soup mixes and a BBQ lunch for shelter residents, baking cookies, working on school campus and community garden improvements, assembling care kits, knitting baby hats, decorating pillowcases, tying fleece blankets, sewing stuffed animals for police and firefighters to distribute, creating animal beds and toys, putting together science kits, assembling personal hygiene kits for unhoused people, cleaning up local parks, and playing board games with residents in senior centers and singing for them.

Your leadership and generosity are essential to making our MLK Jr. Multifaith Day of Service a meaningful and successful community event. We encourage you to share this opportunity with families and individuals in your congregation who may also wish to adopt or sponsor a project, helping bring it to life through their support.
Even if you cannot sponsor an entire project, a donation of any amount can make a difference. For example:
- $5 supports 2 packs of lentil soup ingredients
- $10 supports 5 pillowcases for LifeMoves clients
- $20 supports 3 BBQ meals for Safe Harbor Shelter residents
- $50 supports 30 cards and 12 vases of flowers for seniors
- $100 supports 4 animal beds and 40 pet toys
- $250 supports 1 picnic table for a local school
